A Journey through a forest, made of different parts, all contribute to something that is breathtaking!

School Business Systems Modernization (SBSM) is a software modernization initiative by the North Carolina State Board of Education. This initiative aims to help update the systems used by the State’s K-12 School Districts (known as Local Educational Authorities, or LEA’s) and the Department of Public Instruction from current legacy systems to modern, cloud-based solutions.
CherryRoad was awarded as a prime contractor to modernize the State’s K-12 School Districts. The scope of the modernization effort includes the LEA’s systems for financial, procurement, payroll, human resources, and other business areas. Oracle Cloud, coupled with CherryRoad’s K-12 industry solutions, is helping the State to achieve its modernization goals including efficiency, security, and real-time access to school district information.
Some of the State’s largest LEA’s, including Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, Guilford County Schools, and Cumberland County Schools, are benefiting from CherryRoad’s K-12 solution.
